Job Overview: We are looking for a friendly and experienced phone receptionist to join our team! You will provide a welcoming first impression to callers and will assist refugees, asylees and other immigrants by ensuring they have access to IRC’s services in Northern California. • Answer and direct phone calls to the accurate department and/or staff member and follow up on voicemail
• Conduct phone screenings to identify general eligibility for programming
• Respond to appointment requests and coordinate with staff to facilitate referrals to available programming
• Work in collaboration with program staff to create and maintain a regularly updated collection of local client resources and contacts
• Assist with reminders for appointments through phone / text messaging, as needed

• Other duties as assigned

• You are proficient in English and Spanish. Additional fluency in another relevant language (Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Arabic) preferred.
• Poised and professional; you communicate in a welcoming and upbeat manner with the ability to interact with many different people and language abilities over the phone.
• You take pride in the being highly organized and efficient.

• You have a strong command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong keyboarding skills and internet usage skills; familiarity with reservation management systems a plus..
