We are currently largely operating on a work-from-home basis with controlled access to our office to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our province. New hires may be expected to work from home but should expect to have an in-office component as well.

Based in Halifax we are a small but steadily growing company in the technology/communications industry. The successful candidate will be valued for their time management in multi-tasking ability to utilize organizational tools professionalism and communication in dealing with both internal and external customers and their “can-do” attitude when it comes to problem resolution.

This position has a variety of exposure to accounting tasks and processes with exciting opportunities for growth within the company. Prior accounting experience and training is an asset however an aptitude for learning analytical thinking a positive attitude a good work ethic and being a great team player is far more important.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Processing purchase order requests for office supplies and equipment
  • Placing orders for equipment and maintaining a schedule of open purchase orders and delivery dates
  • Accounts Payable – entering AP Invoices expense reports etc.
  • Monthly Reconciliation of AMEX credit card purchases
  • Inventory Management – performing monthly inventory counts receiving and transferring inventory in and out of our accounting system
  • Monthly / Quarterly reporting & analysis on inventory and expense variances in assisting with financial statement preparations

Skills / Qualifications / Experience Include:

  • Excellent organization and time management skills • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly efficient at multitasking
  • Process-driven problem solver
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Minimum 1 Year of Accounting Post-Secondary Education
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office – Word Excel and Outlook
  • Great interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
  • Hands-on accounting experience is an asset
  • Previous experience using accounting and/or ERP software is an asset
  • Highly adaptable to a fast-paced dynamic team-oriented environment
  • SAP10 Business One experience would be an asset
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership/accountability of tasks
  • The position will be based in the office with two flex days per week to work remotely from home
