YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As an IT Technician you will be accountable for providing world class technical support maintaining our computers and other tech assets and performing onboarding and offboarding tasks for all IT systems. This position reports directly to the IT & Data Privacy Manager.

This is a full time remote position. This position requires domestic travel this is equivalent to approximately 2-3 trips per year plus performing miscellaneous errands that may include buying and shipping computers monitors mice keyboards peripherals etc.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Administer the IT help desk troubleshoot problems and provide direct world class technical support to our staff interns fellows and others.

  • Oversee provisioning and deprovisioning of accounts across the organization.

  • Perform onboarding and offboarding tasks for all IT systems. This includes deploying and setting up computer systems as well as retrieving them and making sure they are ready to be used by the next person.

  • Conduct training on software security and other IT best practices.

  • Work on a variety of IT projects and assist with implementing products that help accomplish our organizational goals including enhancing account and device security across the organization.

  • Work with the IT & Data Privacy Manager to identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities and risks including threat monitoring threat prevention and data breach response and management.

  • Create and maintain documentation for internal processes and procedures related to our IT managed systems.

  • Conduct or assist audits of our IT managed systems to ensure compliance with best security practices and appropriate user access.

  • Maintain our organization’s password management system.

  • Administer our device management software. This includes performing software deployments and monitoring events and updates as they happen.

  • Cross train with other IT staff as directed by your manager to provide insights and redundancy within the team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess most if not all the following qualities skills and characteristics:

  • Technology: At least 2 years professional experience preferably in a remote workspace.. Possess a solid foundational comprehension and experience of solving computer hardware break/fix situations (especially with Apple devices) solving help desk tickets supporting macOS successfully troubleshooting other software problems working with remote administration tools skill servicing accounts with multi-factor authentication (MFA) implementing/maintaining password managers. Must have experience with Google Workspace (preferably as a Google Administrator).

  • Project Management: Experience working on projects successfully.

  • Work Style: Work with integrity and mutual respect motivate and inspire trust and confidence with a wide range of people representing various backgrounds and levels of experience.

  • Communication: Write and speak clearly and effectively. Create and maintain clear and helpful process documentation that incorporates writing speaking and video storytelling. Communicate with peers project stakeholders and product support teams in a friendly welcoming manner especially when introducing new processes or explaining difficult concepts. Be proactive in communicating technical needs and updates.

  • Accountability: If you say you’re doing something do it on time and with quality. Show up to meetings on time. Keep your goals on track and let people know what you need from them to be successful.

  • Organization: Be self-directed and flexible with excellent planning and multi-tasking skills. Able to plan and manage a variety of tasks and projects and ensure all are completed on schedule often working with ambiguous guidelines.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to exercise good judgment balance risks in ambiguous and complex situations and take a practical approach in considering different courses of action. Anticipate needs actively seek opportunities and propose solutions with solid decision-making capability. Think through your solutions and test them before rolling them out.

  • Teamwork: Be creative and enjoy working within a mission-driven results-driven and community-oriented organization. Must be a highly resourceful team-player who works effectively with all levels of staff with the ability to also be extremely effective independently and display dedication to the work and role.

Physical requirements:

  • Move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds

Salary range $50589 – $54750 to commensurate with experience. We do not make offers or negotiate outside of the posted salary range.
